Qualification overview and objective:
Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment is a knowledge-only award for those who are starting their journey as an assessor, or those who need to know about assessment practice but are not currently practising.
Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment
Assessing Competence in the Work Environment is for practitioners who assess the demonstration of competence in a work environment using the following assessment methods: observation/examining work products/oral questioning and discussion/use of witnesses/learner statements/Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Award in Assessing Vocational Related Achievement
Assessing Vocational Related Achievement qualification is intended for those who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the work environment (for example a workshop, classroom or other training environment). It includes the following assessment methods: Assessments of the learner in simulated environments, Skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments, projects, case studies and recognizing prior learning.
For Distance Learning:
The distance learning course is done at your own pace with a Tutor’s Support & Guidance. This programme involves self-directed study, e-learning, workshops and one-to-one tutorial. This course is delivered on Blended learning style (You will start this course with distance learning). All necessary materials will be sent to you by Special royal mail delivery once you book the course. The entry requirement for this course is the basic functional skills (Numeracy, Literacy, ICT). However, we recommend the distance learning course for Individual’s with competence or experience. Once you book this course, you will be given up to 12 weeks to complete the assignments. During this time you need to assess to candidates. However If you finish earlier, you will be awarded early (You do not need to wait for up to 12 weeks).
